Layout created in our Kaszazz Craft night

Credit for original creator/designer of the layout goes to Rosemary Clive.
Class completed with our local lovely Kaszazz consultant ~ Sandra Mann
Such a beautiful and colourful layout and using a photo of myself which I don't do very often (sound familiar). We used Tim Holtz distress stains, white and black gesso, kaszazz stamps of course!! We had such a lovely night with our Wednesday night craft crew.

Scrap around the World March Challenge ~ Elisa Ablett

http://scraparoundtheworld.blogspot.com.au
Hi Elisa here again! ive been busy crafting today trying to get this layout completed before the due date. This is my first layout for a scraparoundtheworld blog challenge, being new to the blog/challenge world of scrapbooking I have really enjoyed the inspiration, ideas and scrapping mojo that I has come to me while looking around online. This challenge blog and the inspirational mood board is exceptional, I loved creating this layout, I thought of this photo immediately after reading the quote on the mood board, 'There is sunshine in my soul today'.  The background was created by a combination of techniques including Aladine Izinks, stencils and layered stamping. I used chipboard, twine and washi tape as well. The yellow and black around the photo was intentional to make the photo pop from the blue/yellow background papers and inks. I loved the colours of the mood board and the chevrons, just perfect for the layout I had in mind. Elisa Ablett

Fancy Cupcakes ~ Scrapbook Boutique March Challenge

http://scrapbookboutiquenews.blogspot.com.au/2015/03/welcome-to-our-march-2015-challenge.htmlHi Elisa here again! When I saw the Inspirational Photo for the March Challenge I immediately thought of these photos of my youngest son and the 'Fancy' Cupcakes we regularly make together. I also thought of these cupcake stamps that i've had forever and have never used.....til now! I embossed the cupcakes and coloured them in with distress stains in the colours of the photo from the March Challenge. I tie-dyed the gauze used under the cupcakes a lovely pastel pink to match. I wanted to recreate the sprinkles from the cupcakes in my photos by using dylusions sprays in the background. Fancy!!! Elisa Ablett

Dusty Attic March Challenge - Lovely

http://dustyatticblog.blogspot.com.au/
Hi Elisa here! Love Love Love these colours, beautiful mood board so I just had to have a go at this challenge. As per the rules of the challenge I used a couple of Dusty Attic products; the 'Cherish' and corner flourish chipboard pieces. I coloured the 'Cherish' piece with an inkpad and used coloured tissue paper and gesso distressed onto the chipboard flourish piece. The background is a combination of Aladine Izinks and stencilling using sponge daubers with different coloured inkpads. The background paper is a project life resist patterned card which I coloured with Tim Holtz distress stains to match the flowers. I loved creating this layout of my niece and her adorable bub. Close some doors

http://jotmagazine.com/blog/
The mood board over at jot magazine for this month was awesome! The door picture inspired the quote (although I can't find who said it) and the because I just finished can't get good lighting -it's a bit too dark in picture :( but quite proud of how the distress, worn look came out.

journal entry

http://scrapbookboutiquenews.blogspot.com.au/2015/03/welcome-to-our-march-2015-challenge.html

Loved the pastel colours of the inspirational pic from scrapbook boutique. I love journalling but it's rare we get to admit them to challenges so thank u for this choice scrapbook boutique :) really enjoyed playing with water colours to create this affect, and used a real music sheet scored at my local vinnies (love op shopping) Hannah Smith

love you march

http://sassyscrappers1.blogspot.com.au/p/blog-page.html
Hi. Hannah here with my entry for the sassy scrapers March challenge. Really love the colours in the mood board- very inspiring! I originally had something completely different planned and gessoed the background but the colours I was spraying and masking just didn't go with the flowers And once I started on the flowers, just loved the effect and they multiplied! Very happy with the finished product though, the gesso just adds an interesting textured background (I think anyway lol).

Live Happy ~ Be Free ~ Regret Nothing

http://jotmagazine.com/march-2015-mood-board/
My entry to the March Challenge over at the Jot Magazine blog. I loved the colours on the mood board, the beautiful coloured door was the inspiration for the layout's background made with distress stains on watercolour paper. I had this photo in mind to scrap with a colourful background and this challenge just fit. This photo was taken by my six year old son with my iPhone. Now time for a confession, I hardly ever take photos of myself and I hardly ever scrap those that do get taken, im usually the one behind the camera taking photos and usually scrap photos of everything else but myself. Im trying to change this as I would like my kids to know all the pieces of me, including what hobbies I have, quirks, favourite quotes, pieces of wisdom and other favourite things etc and I think scrapbooking or perhaps an art journal is the perfect medium. I think we should all do it, even if we are self conscious. Thanks to Jot Magazine blog for a beautiful mood board challenge. Elisa Ablett

Adore ~ March Challenge Sassy Scrappers

http://sassyscrappers1.blogspot.com.au/
Hi Elisa here with my entry into the March Challenge on the Sassy Scrappers blog. I loved the mood board for this challenge especially the ombre watercolour effect, I had a stencil and a mixed media background in mind for this layout and im really pleased with how it turned out. I used a transparent gloss texture paste mixed with Aladine Izinks and distress stains to obtain the colours of the background, used distress stains on watercolour paper for the background paper and also fussy cut some beautiful flowers from Teresa Collins paper. The colours in this layout really suited the photo of my beautiful niece.

You and me

http://letscaptureourmemories.blogspot.ca/search/label/Color%20Spot
When I was flicking through my photos for some inspiration on what I what I wanted to scrap next I came across this pic and it clicked that it would be perfect for the March challenge over at 'let's capture our memories'. Knew exactly what papers and embellishments to put with it too.
Love when things turn out just as you pictured they would :)

See me

http://123-challenge-blog.blogspot.com.au

Hannah Smith here with my admission for the 123 challenge. I can't remember the last time I used embossing as an accent so really loved cleaning off the cobwebs lol. Now that I have remembered how effective it is on a page have had a great time doing lots on my journal pages too! I have used the word 'see' for me as I think it's pretty rare to look in the mirror and actually see yourself rather than critique certain aspects of your face or body.

A serious moment
Depression and suicide - raise awareness not stigma!
If you know someone who is depressed please realise that sometimes there is no answer to 'why' or 'what's wrong'. Please remember depression is not a character flaw, continue to assure them that you are there when they need you, that they are valued. This is a journal entry of my mother who unfortunately suffered from depression for over 30 years. Hannah Smith

See the World ~Imagine the possibilities - 123 Challenge

http://123-challenge-blog.blogspot.com.au/
Hi Elisa again, I have been busy crafting this weekend, trying my hand at a variety of online challenges and I have too say without a doubt that the March Challenge at the 123 Challenge blog is one of my favourites. Love the colour and technique of this months challenge. While going through my photos I found this one of my youngest son looking out at the amazing ocean and seeing how vast and wonderful it is, I immediately had inspiration for the layout with the word 'See' and the colours fit beautifully. Such a powerful message for young inquisitive minds, something I try to teach both my kids to See the World and imagine all the possibilities. Elisa Ablett xx

Off the Rails March Challenge - Love my 2 boys

offtherailsscrapbooking.blogspot.com.au/
Oh boy! Did I have trouble with this one!! photo to match, colour scheme, finding paper and embellishments you name it. I don't normally scrap 'heritage' style/colour layouts so this was a real challenge for me. I certainly had fun trying though, got messy with Tim Holtz distress stains and ink background and the watercolour Heidi Swapp tag. I think my 2 boys are getting quite fed up with me trying to sneak flowers onto my layouts even when I distress them. Elisa Ablett xx

My Precious - Scrappy Canary March Challenge

http://scrappycanary.blogspot.com.au/
My Precious - the layout I created for the March challenge over on the scrappy canary blog. I wanted to keep to the sketch as much as I could but I liked the slightly messy, overlapping look of the squares. I love this picture of my great niece and to get the story behind the title My Precious depends on if you are a Lord of the Rings fan or not. I loved the sketch from Scrappy Canary, it would suit clean clear cut layouts but I am into the slightly messy backgrounds at the moment so I just tweaked it somewhat. Love this Maggie Holmes paper collection so bright and feminine. Elisa Ablett xx

March Challenge D-lish Scraps

http://d-lishscraps.blogspot.com.au/
Hi Elisa here again, Ive had a great weekend scrapping and getting a few challenges completed including one of my favourites, D-lish Scraps. I loved the sketch and colour inspiration and I especially loved getting my 'Caribbean Skies' embellishment kit in the mail! I was so inspired I created this layout pretty quickly, my take on the sketch and colour inspiration for the month of March included using sponge daubers, versafine ink and stencils. Elisa Ablett.

Cute as a Button ~ Scrap the Girls March Challenge

http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/

Elisa here again, just sharing my layout I created for the March scrapthegirls blog challenge. I loved the sketch from the challenge! for a girl who has only recently started scrapping girly pages again due to the timely arrival of my adorable great niece, this sketch was perfect for the bright, colourful, full of fun layout that I had in mind. By Elisa Ablett

Gorgeous - Sketchabilities Challenge #134

http://www.sketchabilities.blogspot.com.au/
My first ever challenge completed for the Sketchabilities blog number #134, this sketch caught my eye and I immediately thought of this photo of my great niece, having two boys I rarely get to use any shade of pink or any soft pastel colours, flowers and bling! I drool over Prima paper and I am so pleased I finally got to use this pretty collection (called delight).  By Elisa Ablett

So many of my smiles begin with you.....2

http://showusyourstuff.blogspot.com.au/
Hi its challenge time again on showusyourstuff blog. The challenge was to include the quote 'So many of my smiles begin with you" and a handmade embellishment. I love the colourful graffiti look and its a great way to get colour on a boy layout. I had a heap of fun completing the background on this layout and the inspiration came from all of the colours in the quote. I did 'cheekily' add a number 2 to my layout to include both my boys in the quote. Elisa Ablett

Love those Smiles ~Scrap the Boys ~ Elisa Ablett

scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/
What a great sketch from scrap the boys challenge blog! Loved completing this layout of my two boys showcasing their great smiles. The layout contains a textured background of coloured whipped spackle through a cascading star stencil, chipboard arrow and mini peg and also my product of the moment 'sequins'. Elisa Ablett

Sweet Smile ~ March Challenge Whitewith1 blog

Hi ! Elisa here with my first entry into the monthly challenges for whitewith1 blog, I fell in love with the colour in the challenge and felt it was destiny (lol) when I pulled out one of my favourite photos of my youngest son which I haven't been able to scrapbook as yet as I couldn't find the right paper! so I made my own background to match. I must admit I quite like how it turned out. Had to take another photo in better light as the shimmery rich 'Hemlock' colour was just not showing in the first photo. Elisa Ablett

Ignore the mess!

http://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au

I have been scrapbooking since my daughter was born nearly 8 years ago but have only just discovered journaling, and am now addicted!!! I love being messy and using all my mixed media stuff to put my thoughts and feelings down on paper. Love that this blog accepts journal pages :) the criteria for this challenge was to use a saying or quote. I don't think there is a mother alive who has not said or at least thought 'ignore the mess' lol.

Busy crafting today, the kids sitting at the table with me cutting and pasting too :) Sometimes I like doing a basic clean cut page, makes the photos stand out more I think. Hannah Smith

Chocolate grins

http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au

Every time I look at this photo it brings a smile to my face - his mischief and beauty really shines through I think. Thanks scrap the boys blog for the inspirational sketch! Ps. Hate when you don't realise something is crooked that you wanted to be straight after the glue has dried :( that chipboard word is just annoying me now!

Kraft Plus Challenge ~ March Challenge ~ Elisa

Hi Elisa here again with a layout I created for the All that Glitters ~ March Challenge from Kraft Plus. I flipped the sketch around, added strips of sparkly tissue paper (and made matching hearts), foil tape, added sequins (of course), kindy glitz and my favourite mixed media product; Aladine Pigment IzInks. I love those Izinks; such beautiful shimmery metallic colours, love love love.
