D-lish Scraps - April Challenge - Knd Heart by Elisa Ablett

http://d-lishscraps.blogspot.com.au/

Hi Elisa here again with my (just in time) entry into the April Challenge from D-lish Scraps Blog. I must admit I loved the colours of the challenge and the use of triangles in the sketch. I used a triangle stencil and used a palette knife to spread modelling paste through it and waited for it to dry then used Aladine Izinks to make shiny metallic paint drips. I made my own feathers using the gold washi tape that came with the April embellishment kit from D-Lish scraps online shop. Love it! I also covered a large chipboard heart with the washi tape as well.  Thanks for dropping by!!

Missed out :( Hannah smith

Really need to take better notes on when each challenge finishes :( did this one for http://sketchyboardschallenge.blogspot.com.au

Repurposed old book by Hannah smith

http://another-freaking-scrappy-challenge.blogspot.com.au
This challenge was all about finding something old to scrap. Mid last yr I fell in love with journalling, a few months later I found posts about repurposing old books and altering book pages on Pinterest. It looked so awesome this was immediately put on my to do list. Life got busy but as I was sitting and thinking of what 'old' thing I could scrap I thght of this so I searched my Book shelf and found this really cool old hard cover book, and my admission to 'another freaking scrappy challenge' is the title page of my new art journal, which will be used for found word poetry, doodling, collage and just crafty fun in general :) gonna be awesome!

Had fun doing this journal page for the artistic challenge. I hope it is 'swirly' enough. I used my finger to swirl 3 diff shades of blue gelatos over gesso on then used Kazzaz stamp bubbles then a mask with acrylic paint to make a splash. I discovered it bubbles when over heated with the heat gun so I tried to do it more, thinking it would make a cool 'wet' look and add to the splash effect but most of the bubbles just deflated again straight away :( quote found on Pinterest.

Enjoyed experimenting with the mood board over at 'show us your stuff', was particularly inspired by the yellows and the pinks although my pink turned out way pinker than intended lol.

April Challenge - Scrapbookingtop50oz - Elisa Ablett

http://scrapbookingtop50oz.blogspot.com.au/

Hi Elisa here with my layout for the April Challenge over on the scrapbookingtop50oz blog. I used a combination of Aladine Izinks and Gold Spritz by Heidi Swapp for the background colours and my favourite background texture stamp by kaisercraft (grid). The background paper is Glitz - Colour Me Happy and Studio Calico and I used a project life 3x4 card with the word Happy on it. My favourite part would be the Wow chipboard and the felt butterfly (unknown). Loved this challenge, I used the colours from the challenge photo see below and of course the word 'Happy' .

Let's Get Sketchy - Team A - April - Week 3

http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/team-april-week-3.html

Hi Elisa here with my first layout created for the Lets Get Sketchy Design Team. This week's sketch by Laura Whitaker http://scrappinaroundtheclock.blogspot.com is fantastic and I encourage everyone to hop on over to Lets Get Sketchy Blog and give the challenge a go. For the background I used ink splatters (London Blue - Dylusions Spray) and a summer background stamp plus electric blue glitter in splatters.

In the above close up photo, the chipboard is from Scrapmatts and the flair buttons from The Scrapbook Store. I distressed around all the papers (Life of the Party Collection - Basic Grey, ILoveSummer - Simple Stories) and the circles were made by tracing around large circle dies.

In the above close up photo, I have used one of my favourite money saving scrapbook techniques! The seagulls are made by spreading modelling paste through the negative chipboard sheet, essentially using it as a stencil once the chipboard seagulls have being used. Winner! This is a great technique one that I have learnt from a scrappychatdesigns.blogspot.com.au/ kit; a layout from one of Beck Beattie's Creative Team. Perfect for adding dimension to your background on a beach layout. The cloud journaling spot is from Evalicious and the flair button from The ScrapbookStore and the Sun embellishment is from Studio Calico.

Thanks for stopping by 2crazycrafters, check back in with us from time to time, we will adding more layouts, journal pages and projects each week.

White with 1 - April Challenge by Elisa Ablett

http://whitewith1.blogspot.com.au/

Elisa here with my layout for the April Challenge over at whitewith1 blog. I loved this months colour (sand), as soon as I saw it I thought of this photo and these awesome new stamps from Kaszazz that I had just bought. I also used a much loved technique of using texture paste to make seagulls through the negative side of a chipboard sheet (from a http://scrappychatdesigns.blogspot.com.au/ kit). I have only completed a few layouts where I created a 'scene' with stamps in the background around a photo and I must admit I quite like how this turned out. A very effective scrapbooking technique. Scrap the Girls - Adore by Elisa Ablett

http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au/

Hi Elisa here again with another layout - created this time for the April Mood board challenge for Scrap the Girls blog and what a beautiful mood board it is!! For my layout I created a rainbow flower background using a sponge dauber with different inks through a stencil and also coordinating ink splatters. I used a beautiful photo of my niece that shows her bright, sweet and caring personality.

Scrap the Boys - Enjoy Today by Elisa Ablett

http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/

Hi Elisa here again with my layout created for the April mood board challenge for Scrap the Boys blog. I love turquoise and well... actually anything blue or green and this was a beautiful mood board, perfect for all those photos I have of the boys at the beach. I used gold texture paste in a spotty stencil to recreate the bokeh effect and for the steel fence in the mood board I utilised a grid texture stamp on the layout. The background is a combination of 3 distress stains splashed together on a craft mat. Thanks for stopping by our blog!

Kraft Plus - April Retro Challenge - Elisa Ablett

http://kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com.au/

Hi Elisa here again, just finished my layout for the April Retro Recipe Challenge for Kraft Plus Challenge Blog. Loved this challenge, the colours and the recipe of tags, washi tape, silver to name a few was amazing. I used yellow paint on a grid texture stamp, texture paste on a background dotty stamp, animal footprint stamp, twine, 3 small tags, silver and kraft coloured tape and silver dotty paper behind the photo. The photo (one of my favourites) of our dog Lila who smiles like this a lot fit perfectly with the colour scheme.

123 Challenge Blog - April Challenge - by Elisa Ablett

http://123-challenge-blog.blogspot.com.au/

Hi Elisa here with my entry into the April Challenge for 123 Challenge Blog. I loved the colour on the mood board - Hot Pink!! definitely a challenge for a mum with 2 boys. Lucky I have nieces and plenty of them ! I found tubes of neon glossy hot pink paint on special at a book store that is closing down and thought I would grab them. I found the perfect photo of my great niece Alesia who is very adept at giving what we call 'the death stare' or the 'stink eye' when she is not happy. I used the paint with a brick stencil, dylusion sprays, black thread, black gloss enamel from Kaszazz and black flower rub-ons from kaisercraft. I loved how it turned out, so bright and yet a bit grungy at the same time.

True colours by Hannah Smith

http://scrap-the-girls.blogspot.com.au

Such a beautiful mood board by scrap the boys!!!
Kept it simple with this layout, for some reason the gold acrylic paint isn't showing off very much in the pic and the colours look a lot bluer than what they really are. Used ripped strips from the lady bird  collection from Prima marketing. I use my iPad to take pics and upload them, really need to get a good camera!

ELISA and I discovered the fantastic d-lishscraps and their just add paper kits 2 months ago and have fallen in love - not only do they match the mood board but are just such great value for money! Love this pic of my sister and her beautiful family that goes really well with this layout :)

Hello summer by Hannah Smith

I have to say I miss summer already! Thanks for the great sketch from scrapbook supplies online. I used simple stories 'good day sunshine' for this layout, and pics from a lovely summer day spent with family.

Well this challenge was very challenging lol. Had to use hot pink, the word lol the for technique - grid. I was pretty happy with how the background turned out - I got inspired from a pic I saw on Pinterest that stuck with me but I then couldn't find again to give credit to. My daughter Jessica loves playing with phones, taking selfies so thought the LOL and hot pink would go well with these pics :)

Right now, this moment counts

http://whitewith1.blogspot.com.au
Hannah Smith here with this months 'white with one' entry. A friend of mine showed me this technique a few wks ago with white ink and have used it on a few different layouts and in my journal lately - a bit in love with it at the moment! This is my little man just gazing out to sea but think the quote is very relevant - those quiet snugly moments that at the time you don't take much notice of still mean a lot!

Latest Mood Palette

Hi Elisa here again with my entry into the April Challenge for Off the Rails Scrapbooking blog. I've being looking for the perfect colour scheme and idea for the photo of my nephew who is super talented at writing and performing plays. The photo was taken under a full moon and he was illuminated by his flashlight which makes for great mood lighting. I found the perfect dotty stamp to use in the background of the layout. Elisa xx
