Kraft Plus February challenge has been revealed!

Hi Krafters!

Its that time of the month again, new challenge and new reveal by the design team for Kraft Plus Challenge blog.

This month we have a fabulous ABBA inspired challenge, its unique and different so put your thinking caps on and blow us away with your creativity.

Here is the challenge and link to the blog.

Current Challenge

and here is my design team creation for the challenge.

I was inspired to make an art journal page, my thinking cap was on and I thought what about trying to create an 'album cover' featuring lyrics and musical notes and a bit of 60 and 70's psychedelia.

"Inspired by the lyrics from the Abba song - I have a dream - 'You can take the future, even if you fail.'

Some of the techniques used are gelli plate printing, stamping, stamping on acetate, rice paper collage and mark making.

Make sure you head on over to the Kraft Plus Blog and give this challenge a go, it is fabulously unique and challenging.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today :-)

'Love the Glorious Mess You are' by Elisa Ablett

Hi Kraft lovers!

It's that time of the month again over on the Kraft Plus Challenge Blog where a new challenge has been revealed and our design team inspiration has been released!

The new challenge is fantastic, be inspired by the photo on the challenge board, take from the photo - colours, patterns, wood grain etc.

Here is the Challenge graphic -

and here is my layout based on the photo inspiration.

I was inspired by the frames on the wall, the colours, the stripey rug ( i used a ruler to press into different coloured paint and then use as a stamp to make stripey patterns on a piece of paper) and the Mandala cushions.

I used a Mandala stamp designed by Memory Maze and then hand coloured it with markers.

I wanted a slightly boho/shabby chic look to my layout.

Here is the link to the challenge so you can see all the design team inspiration and the guidelines!

We hope you join in!

'Be Original' by Elisa Ablett

Hi Krafters,

Start of a new month means a new challenge over at Kraft Plus Challenge Blog.

This month is a fantastic and very out of the box challenge, you have to use paint swatchs or paint chips on your layout.

Here is the link to the challenge and the design team inspiration :-)

This is the layout I created using some very colour paint swatches.

I used a triangle punch and then I used some funky stamps to stamp on the paint swatches to create extra texture and interest on the page.

Here are some close ups of the background and finer details!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, make sure you leave me some love :-)

BMX Bike by Elisa Ablett

Hi Crafters,

Just sharing my latest design team layout created for Kraft Plus Challenges January Challenge.

As soon as I saw this challenge graphic i knew i wanted to use a photo of my son on his bmx bike, the photos i took of him completing his first heart stopping ride on the huge hills at the local bmx track.

I wanted the layout to look colourful and explosive!

Here is the link to the January Challenge over on the blog.

I recently found my old Making Memories foam stamps the other day when i was cleaning my craft room and decided to dust them off and use them in a more modern way... with some neon green paint.

Here are some close ups!

Here is the January Challenge, I got my inspiration from the bike and that's pretty much it! this graphic is way pretty with a cruisy beachy feel about it but my brain went in another direction once i saw the photo i wanted to use!!.

Bush to Beach (collage mixed media) by Elisa Ablett

Hi Kraft Lovers,

Elisa here from the design team for Kraft Plus Challenges.

It's the start of a new month and therefore a NEW exciting challenge!

This month it's all about KRAFT and 'home sweet home'

Click on the link below and check out the challenge and the design teams inspiring creations.

This is my design team layout !

A collage mixed media layout featuring hand painted water colour paintings, stamping, stencilling, painted chipboard, gum leaves and gum nuts and shells.

I was inspired by my home town and my home which is nestled between gorgeous mountains and the sea on the coast of Australia.

My husband and I grew up one valley apart from each other on banana plantations (our parents were farmers and friends) so after school and many years we managed to meet again and fell in love and we made our home not far from where we grew up.

I have lived on many farms in the bush and also lucky enough to live for some time on top of a beautiful mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean especially an island which has a historical lighthouse and light keepers cottages.

My layout is inspired from many things including the places i have lived to the views I have seen from my home, to meeting my husband and where we live today. So you could say my layout is a collage of a few of the most important places and times in my life.

Here are some close ups of my layout -

Some stencilling!!

Some stamping and colouring using Prima Watercolours :-)

This month over at Kraft Plus is bittersweet, a few of our lovely team members are saying goodbye to the team, they will be sadly missed as part of our Kraft Plus family....

That's it for me today...

Thanks for stopping by the blog, make sure you leave some love...

Kraft Plus - November Challenge - Be Inspired by Elisa Ablett

Hi Crafters,

How fast is the year going?? I think i just blinked and we are here in November!!

What a fantastic challenge over at our favourite Kraft Challenge blog for this month, to be inspired by something from your closet!

I loved this challenge, such a clever idea as really your mind could run in so many crafty directions.

I immediately thought of my favourite shirt, the colours that feature heavily in my closet and patterns that i like. I found a photo of myself in my favourite Kaftan shirt as well to go on the layout. Years from now when my fav shirt is worn to shreds it will be lovely to look back on my layout.

Here is the Challenge link below along with the Challenge itself!

AND

Here is the layout i was inspired to create,
featuring hand dyed calico, hand stamped and painted patterns on calico.

I was inspired by the feel of fabric, the fabric colours and patterns from my favourite kaftan shirt, gorgeous teals, turquoises, blues and greens. Also after a good long hard look in my closet i realised i have a load of shirts and dresses featuring those colours and also featuring bohemian style patterns etc.

I really love how the fabric idea on my page turned out, the colours and flower pattern are all me and i am inspired everyday by those colours - cool, calming and creative....

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, make sure you leave some love :-)

Kraft Plus July Challenge - DT Reveal

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to July, a start of a new month and that means....NEW challenges and new design team reveals.....

I have been soooo busy this month with demonstrating at the Brisbane Expo and being accepted onto a couple of new design teams that i have neglected to post a few projects from June so over the next few days i will update the blog.

For now, i am sharing my layout and the awesome new mood board for Kraft Plus Challenges - July Challenge.

So the criteria is Kraft base with the board inspiration plus Sheet Music.....

Here is my design team layout that i created for this month's reveal...

I was inspired by the pastel colours of the moodboard, including the mint and pink plus the romantic soft pretty lace and flowers. My Sheet music hearts are hand made, i purchased some old sheet music  at an op-shop and cut them into strips and then i handrolled the strips into rolls (about the thickness of pencil or paintbrush) which i stuck on an old piece of cardstock, once i had a large piece of rolled music sheets on the cardstock i drew hearts on the back and then cut the hearts out and inked around the edges. They give added texture and dimension to the layout i think.

Here are some close ups of the details.

Some of products i used :

Colour Blast Leather Paste and Spray
Colour Blast Deep Water Shimmer Spray
Colour Blast Lipstick Shimmer Spray
Gesso
Penny Black Stamps
Close to my heart resist mini frames
Recycled Sheet Music
Lace hessian from $2 Shop
Dylusions Paint Daubers
Ranger Kraft Stickers
Unknown chipboard
Ranger Stencil
