Mixed Media Tag by Elisa Ablett

Hi Crafters,

Elisa here from the design team for Ink Art Designs with my latest project, a mixed media tag.

Lot's happening on this mixed media tag!

It started out as as gel print on a tag, then I added an image transfer which was just perfect. It was of a black and white pattern in an old magazine. Just loving how the image transfers are turning out on my gel prints, a technique I keep going back too.

Add a bit of background stamping and some collage paper from Scrap FX, make sure it is subtle so as to not take away from the main feature, our funky diva doll from Lost Coast Designs Stamp Company!

After I added a bit of colour in the background with my Distress Oxide Ink pads, I felt it was too bright so I added a white crackle paste over the top, it toned down all the colour brilliantly.

To complete the doll, I actually stamped her a few times on different discarded gel prints I had laying around and pieced her back together with 3D foam squares to give her a bit of life. I added touches of colour pencils on her face to highlight her features. Just love how she turned out, a lovely art doll that you could use over and over again!

It's okay to make mistakes by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

Elisa here from the design team for Ink Art Designs with my latest project, a mixed media art journal.

Featuring a back ground made with Distress Oxide Ink Pads - Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Dina Wakley Paints - White, Magenta, Peacock.

To create the face, I stamped Dina Wakley stamp onto deli paper, glued to my art journal page and coloured the image with watercolours.

To finish the page, I stamped using a black versafine ink pad and used a variety of stamps including That's Crafty Boho Vibes and Script words from Dina Wakley Say Yes stamp set and loads of stencilling using a TCW Well Rounded stencil.

Stenciling around your stamped images can assist with blending the stuck down image with your background.

'Crazy About You' Card for Ink Art Designs

Hi Crafters,

Elisa here with my latest inspiration for Ink Art Designs, a cute card featuring the Smitten Moustache Monsters from Stampotique.

Ink Art Designs, an Australian stockist, has a huge range (growing by the day) of the quirky great quality stamps that we know and love from Stampotique.

I decided to pair the Moustache Monsters with a great stencil from Flutterby Designs (another great Australian company) called 'Dapper Dan'. I coloured the stamped images with Distress Oxide Ink Pads by smooshing the ink onto a craft mat and spritzing with water and using a small round paintbrush.

I added little details with Life of Colour paint pens.

Here are some of the products used from the Ink Art Designs Shop:

Mustache Stencil - Dapper Dan from Flutterby Designs

Distress Oxides - Spiced Marmalade, Evergreen Bough, Peeled Paint
Life of Colour - Red Paint Pen
Archival Inkpad - Shadow Grey

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, make sure you leave some love in the comments.
