Hi everyone,

Elisa here for Ink Art Designs with my latest inspiration for you.

I really adore the Katzelkraft Farm Animal Stamp Set, the expressions of the animals really lend themselves to funny or snarky projects. 

I have created a fun art journal page using the Stamp set along with one of my favourite 'Dad' Jokes about a bunch of rabbits. 

The background is created with bright watercolour inks along with a stencilled background. I tried to keep the colour combo along the lines of Easter colours, such as pink, teal, lime and blue as at the time I had a different joke in mind for the page. 

Add some extra stamping with Visible Image stamps and Art by Marlene Stamps and some torn washi tape to create a bit of visual interest.

Who left the bag of idiots open ? Card by Elisa Ablett

Hi Stamp Lovers!

My turn to share another project for Ink Art Designs to end out the month of January.

To mix things up a bit I created a snarky funny card (or art journal page) combining a few stamp sets and a snarky sentiment. Sometimes you just have to mix things up to achieve the result you want lol ..

I am again having a load of fun playing with the Katzelkraft Stamp Sets from Ink Art Designs, I find the facial expressions and antics of the animals in these stamp sets are just made for creating a card with humour.... I have a bit of a quirky sense of humour so don't worry if its not your cup of tea so to speak.

To create the card, I used a watercolour ink background along with a tree stamp and some stencilling to create hills. I heat embossed with black embossing powder for my stamped images and then used watercolours to add colour.

TIP: stamp a few images and play around with mediums to achieve the look you want, sometimes a happy accident of combining a few products can achieve the very look you didn't know you where looking for!

Christmas Ornament by Elisa Ablett

Elisa here from the Ink Art Design Team with my last post for the year! In keeping with the season, I decided to make a funny Christmas Ornament using Katzelkraft stamps from the store - https://www.inkartdesigns.com/product-category/stamps/stamps-stamps/

Here is my step by step for those wishing to see how the ornament came together!

1. Stamp on thick mixed media white cardstock using your versafine black inkpad and quickly emboss with your black embossing powder before the ink dries. Heat set and continue stamping and embossing until you have the images you desire for your ornament.

2. I used Farm Animals and Grumpy Penguins from Katzelkraft as well as their accessories stamp set which is awesome to make your little characters come alive !

3. Once you have stamped and embossed, use markers or water colours to add colour to your images.

  

4.  Fussy cut your images out and add more details using a black and also a white fine tip marker from Posca or gel pen etc.

5. I found this pack of four DIY decorate baubles from Spotlight Australia and had the idea to make my own ornaments with little characters and scenes, best bargain ever at $2.50 each pack!

6. Seperate a circle ornament and cut background paper to fit the cardboard circle that goes in the middle of the ornament. Trim any over hanging edges.

7. Start putting your scenes together!

8. Let me introduce you to Snow-tex if you don't already know it, it is made by Decoart and is fabulous for 3D snow effects. Using a paint brush, add snow to the top of your first scene, to the penguins hat and the presents. Use 3D foam mounting tape behind the presents and penguin to create a shadow box effect.

9. For the second scene, I attached the sheep's hat first and used 3D foam mounting tape to give him some depth, then I cut a small length of the christmas light stickers which I bought 60% off at Spotlight, another bargain woohoo!! I wanted it to look like the sheep had the end of the lights in his teeth - pulling the lights down (being a bit naughty) 

10. I used a label maker to make my quotes but you can use small alpha stamps or computer generate your own to suit. 

Here are both scenes side by side ready to put the ornament together. I crumbled up a piece of recycled packaging to represent snow and turning it into a snow globe as well!! 

Add a piece of ribbon to the top once you have popped the two sides together and hang on your tree.

Holy Cluck by Elisa Ablett - Art Journal Page

Hi Crafters,

We are officially in December and I will admit to some slight panicking about not been ready for Christmas. 

So while I am heavy breathing into a paper bag in the corner, read on to see how this art journal page came together.

and a closer look at those gorgeous Katzelkraft stamps - I cannot get over the expressions on the faces of the animals, it makes for all sorts of projects if you have the right quote or saying..

I named my duck Gerry, i can see we are going to have some great adventures with him in my art journal pages lol.  To create my stamped images I used an archival ink in black and watercolours with a small round paintbrush. I stamped a few of each image and used different colours to get to the one i loved the most.

and my potty mouthed chickens, yet to be named, but I can see they will feature in future projects as well. 

I used a joggles house stencil in the background to look like a henhouse or a barn and kept to a lighter background with my paints to let the stamped images stand out. I also lightly stencilled over the top of the barn to add a bit of texture and depth. 

I am usually hesitant to make lumpy and bumpy art journal pages but I had the coconut fibre and thought it would be great for the nest under the egg and also chipboard piece which in a grid pattern looks at home in a farmyard setting.

Don't be shy in adding grungy marks like scribbly writing or lines etc, it all adds to the uniqueness of your pages.
