Me ? Crazy ? - Art Journal page by Elisa - Ink Art Design Team

Hi Stampers,

Elisa here from the design team for Ink Art Designs with my latest creation, a fun art journal page.

What do you get when you cross a snarky frog with a unicorn and loads of colour? lol

To start my page I added Watercolour Inks to watercolour paper using a wet on wet technique and blotting with a baby wipes to take away some of the bright colour. I saved my baby wipe and waited for it to dry, I then peeled the layers of the baby wipe apart and fussycut cloud shapes from one of the thinner layers.

Add your book paper and sew in bright coloured thread around the paper.  Add a black border in a watercolour black pencil. Adhere your clouds to the page and add your stamped and coloured images. I decided to add a stencilled border to really make the colours pop!

Fierce & Free by Elisa Ablett for Paper Rose Studio

Hi everyone,

My turn to share an inspiration project for Paper Rose Studio today and instead of a card or scrapbooking page I decided to head in a different direction this time, a mixed media art journal spread!

Featuring loads of Paper Rose Studio products including Doodle Flower Stamp Set and the awesome Mandala Stencil to name a few.

Make sure you head over to the Paper Rose Community page on Facebook to keep up to date with all things Paper Rose Studio.

Let's take a closer look at the project.

I started with a base of Modelling paste smoothed through the Paper Rose Mandala Stencil.

Then adding colour with watercolour inks and blending colour through stencils to continue the layering process.

I fussy cut the fabric flower child from the quarter of fabric from Paper Rose Studio, adhered her to the page.

On heavy weight white cardstock, add ink and acrylic paint to the cardstock and let dry. Then stamp the Doodle Flowers stamp set over the coloured cardstock. Then fussy cut your flowers out and glue around your fabric girl.

Add your finishing touches including stencilling and stamping and splatters of ink.

And your done!

My last project was a scrapbooking page with a soft romantic flowery design using the same stamp set. It just goes to show that you can get your monies worth with different projects with just the one product!

Shine like the whole universe is yours - Elisa Ablett for Ink Art Designs

Hi everyone,

My turn to share my latest inspiration for Ink Art Designs, a soft feminine layout featuring Art By Marlene Stamp Set 41 available in store today.

I took inspiration from the colours in the photo and also the soft feminine feel to the page and coloured my stamped images with a soft rose and light green. I also layered using soft pinks and burgundy paper along with vellum. I used ART C watercolour brush markers to colour my stamped images using an archival inkpad.

I also stencilled and hand coloured the vines in the layout, taking inspiration from the garden archway with the vines twirling through them.

Create movement on your page by angling your embellishments so they look like they are moving in a wave across your page. Place your photos on angles as well but anchor them to the page by using dark frames. These will draw the eye directly to them.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, make sure you stop by the Ink Art Designs Stamping facebook page to participate in our latest challenge for this month and to be inspired by all the wonderful creations in the group.

Vintage Truck Card by Elisa Ablett for Paper Rose Studio

Hi everyone,

My turn to share a project for Paper Rose Studio  today.

I just had to add the new Vintage Truck 4x4 stamp set to my stash, what a perfect stamp to create those masculine cards for the men in our life.

I wanted to recreate a rusting patina on the trucks body and frame so I started with a Rusty Hinge background and added Chunky Rust Baked Texture Embossing Powder by Seth Apter. Once I heat embossed the embossing powder, I added small daub of Green Patina Matte Wax by Finnabair using my finger. The texture and colour is amazing and looks authentic.

The card creator acts as a window to my background which is a combination of Distress Inks smooshed onto Photo Paper, this is such a great substrate for bright backgrounds.

Art Journal Page by Elisa Ablett for Ink Art Design Team

Hi everyone,

Elisa here for Ink Art Designs with my latest inspiration for you.

I really adore the Katzelkraft Farm Animal Stamp Set, the expressions of the animals really lend themselves to funny or snarky projects.

I have created a fun art journal page using the Stamp set along with one of my favourite 'Dad' Jokes about a bunch of rabbits.

The background is created with bright watercolour inks along with a stencilled background. I tried to keep the colour combo along the lines of Easter colours, such as pink, teal, lime and blue as at the time I had a different joke in mind for the page.

Add some extra stamping with Visible Image stamps and Art by Marlene Stamps and some torn washi tape to create a bit of visual interest.

Here are some of the products and links to the shop:-

Make sure you take the time to browse through all the new arrivals in store...

That's it from me today, thanks for stopping by the blog.
