Hi fellow stamp hoarders!

Elisa here from the design team for Ink Art Designs in Australia with my latest creative project showcasing the great range of stamps and NOW mixed media products.

"Life is Beautiful" Art Journal page by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

My turn to share a project for Ink Art Designs today.

My goodness this year is flying, we are almost all the way through October, I have been a bit quiet the last few months with creating due to some tough circumstances on the homefront. So here is a timely reminder to take care of yourself and your family and that it is OK to take some time out  if you need it.

I loved putting this art journal page together, what started out as a large pile of stamps and stencils ended with a sea themed art journal page with a bit of white space and not at all what I had planned.

Guess that's the beauty of art journalling, channelling your thoughts and feelings through art onto a page!

Here are a few of the products used from Ink Art Designs, if they are not in stock at the moment, no problem, just message Dot to see if she can get them in for you!

Seahorse Stamp - Scrapbooking Stamp
visible-image-stamps - ink splats, ripple effect, life is beautiful
Meshing Around and Fibres Stencils from Visible Image

Other products used include:

Colour Blast Watercolour inks, Tim Holtz Distress Stains and Inks, Izink Metallic Ink
Embossing powders in Royal Blue and Gold

Here are some close ups!

You can see from the close ups, that I embossed the Seahorse stamp and added a smidge of colour after to fill in some of the white. The circles in the background behind the seahorse make a great frame which draws your eye to the beautiful stamped image.

'Bohemian' Art Journal Page by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

Just sharing my latest Art Journal page for Ink Art Designs.

This is another page that I have completed in my mini Art Journal book that I posted about on the 24th August, inspired by the talented Tina Walker.

I haven't added a quote to this art journal page, it just felt 'enough' so I stopped!

Here is another look at the outside of the mini art journal books I made with the fabric covers.

and below is a close up of all the glorious texture from the recycled baby wipe, sari silk offcuts and vellum rose stickers that are in the background.

Let's take a look at the stamp I used from Ink Art Designs.....

Other items include:

Sari Silk, Vellum Stickers, Distress Oxide Inkpads, recycled baby wipe, Prima Confection Watercolours, Sigma Black Marker 0.7mm

After stamping her face on a separate piece of cardstock, I glued small strips and pieces of Sari Silk around her face and fashioned her hair, I added fine lines for her shoulders using a maker and then glued her baby wipe shirt on. I added her head piece 'crown of flowers' as it picked up the colours in her shirt and flowers and made her a true bohemian lady. Add small amounts of watercolour to the face, eyes and lips and shading under her chin etc.

Before I glued the Sari Silk down onto my page, I added my collage stickers and then added a thin wash of colour around and over the top to dull them down a bit.

A scribbled border using a marker adds the last touches.

Mini Art Journals by Elisa Ablett

Hi Inky friends,

Elisa here from the design team for Ink Art Designs with my latest inspiration featuring loads of stamping, art journalling and inky mess.

I have to give you all a bit of background into these mini art journals and how I came to create (be addicted) them. I was lucky enough to catch a private tutorial from one awesome talented lady - Tina Walker (aka...A dogs life13). The tutorial was - how to create a mini art journal using one sheet of paper of any size!! it is so clever, I have included Tina's social media information so you can head on over and subscribe and keep on eye out in the next few months for the next mini book tutorial....

These are only 2 of the mini art journals i have created. I have also used cardboard to create the front and back covers and decorate them with Sari Silk and recycled baby wipes.

Here is the link for Tina Walker's youtube channel and instagram,
make sure you head on over and subscribe!

You can see from the below photo by Tina Walker just how awesome these mini books can be!

I consider myself a novice of the mini book, but BOY am I addicted.

These are just a sample of the pages I have created in my two mini books so far!

Under each photo I have included a list of the Ink Art Designs stamps I have used in that page.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and don't forget to visit the Ink Art Designs shop online or in person this weekend at Paperific in Melbourne Australia.

See what others don't ||| by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

Elisa here with my first project for August for Ink Art Designs, a spring inspired art journal page!

It features a very bright background along with colourful flowers which have been stamped from a gorgeous Stamp set from That's Crafty, so put on some sunglasses and let's pretend Spring has arrived early in Australia 😉😁

The background and flowers were all created from Colour Blast water colour liquid inks on normal everyday 4 x 6 inch photo paper and then stamped and fussy cut out. Yes you heard right, photo paper and watercolours can produce the most spectacular results and each print is different!

I wanted to create a 3d garden in my Art Journal so I added some hand painted stems and buds to go on the background before the flowers and leaves were stuck down.

Let's take a look at the products used to create this art journal page -

and some close ups of the finer details!

You can see how vibrant the watercolours on photo paper can be and you can get some wonderful patterns and hues to stamp on and cut out.

That's it from me today, I hope you head over to have a look at Ink Art Designs great range of stamps and products and make sure you stop by the facebook group to participate in the monthly challenge!

Daydream by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

How awesome is the latest challenge over at Scrap Matrix Shares !

Mandalas and Zentangling together look amazing and the entries so far into this month's challenge look fantastic so make sure you head over to check all the inspiration out.

The challenge is pretty easy this month, just create something with both Mandalas and Zentangling and you can use the challenge graphic as inspiration as well.... easy peasy...

So, i was lucky enough to be on a craft retreat with Tanya Froud, my awesome buddy recently and we were bouncing ideas off each other all weekend.

I decided to use my new Tracy Scott Mandala stamp set along with some fussy cut Art by Marlene Collage paper to create my Mandala background on my Scrapbooking page.

Add some great Zentangling by Tanya Froud and a few wines and we had ourselves a craft collaboration!

Tanya is a master tangler and has such a steady hand, so I threw my trusty white Posca Pen at her and she went to town on my layout with her freehand designs.

Here are some of the products used from Scrap Matrix Store with the direct links below-

Let's take a closer look at the finer details!

I decided to keep my stamped Mandala's black and white and let the collage paper shine with colour. I had a cute little chipboard title which I embossed with Gold embossing powder and added splatters of Gold Mica Powder (watered down) onto my page.

Layer your fussy cut elements under your photo, alternating the black and white stamped images and the fussy cut coloured collage pieces. Use a simple glue stick on collage paper for a smooth finish!

Add some freehand zentangling to match your other pieces, you can see that Tanya has incorporated dots, scallops, hearts, strings of circles and black and white elements to coordinate with my background.

I was so happy with how this turned out, very unique and different and also holds a small piece of my good friend's awesome 'tangling talent' on my page.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, make sure you leave some love.
