World Card Making Day - Turtle Soup Forum

Hi Crafty Friends,

Happy World Card Making Day :-)

Make sure you head on over to Turtle Soup Forum to check out the amazing challenges we have to celebrate WCMD.

My challenge (and it was a challenge as I don't usually make cards ) is to create a card using up-cycled or 2nd hand items.

Here is my card, the up-cycled items that I used are the butterfly which I fussy cut out of an old Mother's Day Card, the water colour background was cut from a page from my 'practice' art book where I try out new techniques, the third item is the metallic embroidery thread which I found in a second hand store.

I haven't made a card in years so I was a little nervous, I quite like the water colour look on cards so im happy with the results. Thanks for stopping by!!!

Turtle Soup - Friday Inspiration Challenge

Turtle Soup - Friday Inspiration

Hi everyone,

Better late than never - so they say!!

Here are the inspiring moodboards that I found on Pinterest and the layout I created from the moodboards.

The Moodboards can be found on the following links - https://www.pinterest.com/isabellasperez/colors/

As you can tell I went with the second moodboard, taking the forest, leaves, colours etc from the pictures and creating a layout for our rainforest walk photos. I used a Basic Grey collection and a stencil from Kaisercraft plus a gorgeous die cut paper sheet from Papermania.

Thanks for stopping by!

Turtle Soup - Design Team

Monday Sketch Challenge

Here is my layout for the Monday Sketch Challenge (Sept 14th) over on the Turtle Soup Forum.

Its probably not your usual type of girly layout with all the black and splashes of colour especially for a baby girl but THIS baby girl is sooooo different lol. My great niece is completely adorable and cute but is a complete diva!!

Here is the fantastic sketch that I had to work with:

Some of the materials I used are - American Craft Cardstock, Ranger Ink Sprays, Handmade flowers by Mary Flower, 7 Gyspie's Chipboard and Scrap FX stamp.

Lets Get Sketchy Design Team Reveal

Lets Get Sketchy - September Team A Week 3

Hi everyone, haven't been able to get much scrapping done lately due to family commitments but I am here to share my Design Team layout that I created for the latest sketch challenge for Lets Get Sketchy challenge blog. This layout is created from an amazing sketch from Laetitia - a member of the design team.

Here is the AMAZING sketch which I loved!!!

Some of the materials that I used are: Faber Castel gold luxe paste, coredinations cardstock, black embossing powders, Scrap FX stamp, tissue paper, jillibean stencil, black and white paint sharpie marker, Lindy's stamp gang magicals, kaszazz chevron stamp, Heidi Swapp Gold mist, Scrap FX stencil and Lily Bee Design patterned paper.

The Moroccan mosaic stamp is from Scrap FX and is starting to become a firm favourite.
I heat embossed after stamping with black embossing powder and used the resist method with the brilliant water colour Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals for the background. Also using the lush Faber Castell Luxe Paste through a couple of stencils.

I can actually see this background working really well on a canvas and I can't wait to try it !!

Sketchabilities Sketch #147

Sketchabilities  - Sketch #147

Hi crafty friends! Its that time again....design team reveal for Sketchabilities.

Here is the layout that I created.

Here is the awesome sketch by Karan-

As you can see I flipped the sketch around onto it's side. I wanted to try a little something different so I fussy cut a lot of flowers to make a large side cluster. I also used a gorgeous flower stamp on the side and coloured the buds in with a gold montana paint marker. I loved the gold printed vellum from Maggie Holmes so I used it as a gorgeous backing paper.

Some of the materials used: Montana Paint Markers, Kaszazz Stamp, Kaisercraft Texture Stamp, White sharpie paint marker, Maggie Holmes vellum paper, A piece of Cake Design kit.
