'Create your own Calm' by Elisa Ablett

Hi Visible Image lovers,

My turn up on the blog today with my latest layout showcasing a number of new stamp sets and stencil from https://visibleimage.co.uk/.

One of my favourite design techniques is to use frames on my layouts, squares, circles, flowers ...well you get the picture.

For this layout I used a square to contain my background, which features stamping using colourful inks. The Visible Image stamp set - Organics was perfect for this technique.

I also love using stamping on acetate as a technique, using Staz On ink, you can stamp and fussy cut images to go with your themed background. In my layout, i used the Create and Calm seahorse on acetate to add a feature stamping piece to my layout.

Its perfect to use on layouts as you get to see your background through your embellishment.

Here are some close ups of my stamping using the Visible Image products -

#youmyloveareawesome by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

Elisa here from the design team for Scrap Matrix with my latest layout based on the current April Challenge - a double moodboard (Monochromatic and pick a line from the Tic Tac Toe Board).

I chose to do a mixed media layout using shades of Turquoise AND stamps, a large title and German Scrap from the Scrap Matrix Store. Now if you know me I LOVE turquoise, teal and blue on my layouts, there are a lot of different mediums in the store - Sprays, inks, crayons etc. I used a combination of two 13 arts products including Ayeeda Water Ink and Turquoise Chalk spray

Here is the challenge link in the group, head on over to have a look and please place your entries, we love seeing your work!

Here is my layout -

As you can see the title is huge! it is fussy cut from the Pink Fresh Boys Fort paper (bold) collection and high lighted by a white gel pen. I also fussy cut some of the triangles from the Boys Fort (thumbs up) paper.

Here are some close ups -

'Her Spirit Was Strong' by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

Elisa here from the design team of Visible Image with my latest mixed media project for you.

A mixed media tag featuring a couple of Visible Image's background stamps - the new awesome Fibonacci and De-Stressed.

To create the tag, I started with a heavy base chipboard tag from 2Crafty Chipboard, perfect substrate for a mixed media tag. Next came a background of gesso'd old book paper, torn and distressed.

I then stamped my feature dragon flies ( https://visibleimage.co.uk/product/live-in-the-moment/), hand coloured with a bit of the gorgeous teal dylusions shimmer spray and then fussy cut them out and 3d mounted them over my background.

I loved using the Cosmic Skies Stencil to create a small and subtle amount of texture for my background. I used a white modelling paste as I find that it doesn't soak up colour as much as other mediums leaving you with bright colour!

'Transform' by Elisa Ablett

Hi Everyone,

Elisa here from the design team for Scrap Matrix with my latest layout based on the latest Scrap Matrix challenge - textures and layers.

This is a slightly darker layout than what i usually do but i wanted to create a night cityscape on my background to go with the cityscape in the glasses of the snap chat filter in my photo.

Some of the textures and layers that I used to create this layout include - Prima Finnabair Metallique Wax in Aged Brass rubbed over a black embossed card stock, Black Pico Embellisher used to create scribble writing and to add details to the background, Dina Wakely Scribble Sticks (Yellow) to hand colour the butterflies, Black Dylusions spray to create splatters, Black 13 Arts Water Ink to create the horizon for my cityscape.

All of the products can be found in the Scrap Matrix Store or be ordered through Vicki from Scrap Matrix.

I hand drew the buildings and bridges and houses with a black marker and using a paintbrush i coloured in the windows to match the touches of yellow, gold and brass in my layout. If you do not feel confident with drawing your buildings, Vicki has a great selection of City Buildings Stencils or there is the new Stamp Set #52 from Aall & Create that has buildings as well.

Sometimes its good to step out of your colour comfort zone I think!

'Use your wings' by Elisa Ablett

Hi Crafters !

Elisa here from the design team for Visible Image with my latest project.

I wanted to create a whimsical mixed media board using the gorgeous 'Believe in Unicorns' and 'Angels are Near' stamp sets from Visible Image.

I used Distress Oxide ink pads to create a chalky oxide background for my moonscape and I hand dyed the gauze to create a textured 'grass'.

To create the fairy wings I used Dina Wakely Scribble Sticks directly onto the stamps and spritzed with water! and then once dry I then stamped again over the top with a different colour.

Here are some close ups for the finer details.

Here are the stamp sets from Visible Image, click on the links to see the stamps in store today!

Thats it from me today, make sure you head over to the shop to have a peek at all the fantastic stamps and stencils!
