'Beautiful' by Elisa Ablett

Hi D-lish lovers,

Im up on the D-lish Blog again with another mixed media layout! Here is the post below -

Elisa here from the design team with my latest layout for D-lish Scraps, a mixed media layout chock full of gorgeous D-lish goodies.

My background was created with thick Mixed Media cardstock (a must), Candy and Paris Colour Blast Shimmer Dusts and a 'Pear Tart' Irresistible Spray and some stamping using Prima Ink and Layer stamps plus stamps from Aall and Create.

Let's take a look at the D-lish goodies on the layout!

In the main cluster on the page I layered Red Cabbage Roses, Washi Tape, Red Sequin Heart, a journal strip from the latest 'Just Add Paper' Kit - Primrose-LaneCreative-Cuts - Roses, lime green gauze and lime green flowers from a previous Just-Add-Paper-Kit , and a chipboard film strip. I also embossed a Kinder-Kreations - Beautiful Chipboard Title in white to match my page.

In this second cluster there I feature the gorgeous Rose Creative Cuts'Just Add Paper' Primrose Lane Red Cabbage Roses, Washi tape, Journal Spot and Red Flair Button. Plus a little more of that lovely lime green gauze.

On both my clusters I have added some plastic green 'look a like' leaves I had in my stash, I picked them up from an op-shop a long time ago and never used them.

The lovely Creative cuts look fantastic against the coloured background ! They are so versatile, you can colour them or leave them plain.

Make sure you head to the shop to check out the bargains in the Clearance Section.

That's it from me today, I hope my layout inspires you to try something different with your D-lish Stash.

Hi all !

Just sharing a recent layout of mine that featured on the Shop and Crop Blog.

Featuring loads of products from Shop and Crop including Colour Blast Colour Sprays, Colour Blast Texture Paste, Darkroom Door Arty Circles Collage Stamp and a cool Grungy Template from Kaisercraft, keep scrolling for all the handy links to the shop.

Also I have included in this week's post a handy background tutorial for you to try.

If you are placing an online order don't forget to use the code EA5 to get your discount at the checkout!

Here are some close ups of the finished layout!

Technique and Product Showcase -

To keep with my circular theme on my layout I wanted to show you how I created my grungy backgroun!

Step One - I used Colour Blast Colour Sprays in Carribean and Lagoon to lay down a small oval of colour in the top right hand corner where my photo would fit over and also a small area on the bottom left hand side of my layout where my corresponding cluster will go.

Step 2 - Using the circular template spray colour sprays directly onto the template instead of your page! then quickly turn it over and press firmly onto your layout, you are essentially using your template as a stamp. Mop up the excess spray from your craft mat with your chosen chipboard, i used a couple of grungy pieces from Memory Maze Chipboard.

Step 3 - once that has dried, spray and splatter a small amount of Roadbase colour spray onto the layout around your two areas of colour.

Step 4 - Ink up your darkroom door stamp with Black archival ink - i use versafine ink as it gives a lovely crisp stamping image. Stamp in a cross circular pattern around your colour area as shown in both photos.

Step 5 - once dry - using a small dots stencil add small amounts of Colour Blast Bling Paste to your layout over the top of your stamped image, once dry you are now ready to layer your photo and embellishments!

'Be Original' by Elisa Ablett

Hi Krafters,

Start of a new month means a new challenge over at Kraft Plus Challenge Blog.

This month is a fantastic and very out of the box challenge, you have to use paint swatchs or paint chips on your layout.

Here is the link to the challenge and the design team inspiration :-)

This is the layout I created using some very colour paint swatches.

I used a triangle punch and then I used some funky stamps to stamp on the paint swatches to create extra texture and interest on the page.

Here are some close ups of the background and finer details!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, make sure you leave me some love :-)

'Be your beautiful Self' by Elisa Ablett

Hi Crafters,

I just wanted to share my first blog post for the Artified Design Team which happened the other day!!
............

Elisa here from the design team with my first post for the Artified blog!

I wanted to create something a little out of the box for my first post using the gorgeous Tim Holtz Layered Stencils in Floral, Roses, Ornate and Trellis AND the NEW Lindy's Stamp Gang Shakers.

I had a play around with the Shaker's to hand dye my Canvas flag and I mopped up the excess liquid with a baby wipe and was so impressed with the patterns on it and colours I decided to use the baby wipe on my project. Here is the end result!

To start my project I coloured my chipboard birds with a few coordinating Gelatos and put aside to dry.

Next step, using a craft mat spray water and tap out a little bit of colour from your Lindy's Shakers into the water - then dip your canvas flag into the water and colour and repeat until you have covered your flag in colour and patterns, Mop up the excess colour and liquid with a small piece of lace and a baby wipe and set it aside to dry - we will be using these on your project!

Next once your lace is dry attach it to your muslin by sewing or gluing if you don't have a machine. Grab a inkpad and sponge or dauber and using your Trellis stencil, dab some of the colour through your stencil onto your dried canvas flag.

Grab another stencil and repeat with a green inkpad and the Ornate stencil.

Next step - Attach your muslin to your baby wipe and distress the edges of the baby wipe until they are uneven and torn, then attach to your Canvas flag either by stitching with a machine or gluing. Then using the Floral Stencil and a palette knife spread Colour Blast paste in your chosen colour ( I used Royalty) making sure the paste covers parts of the flag, muslin and baby wipe. Carefully peel off the stencil and let dry!

Here are some close ups for all the finer details. I added my chosen saying, chipboard, flower and cotton to add a little extra colour and texture. Once the flag is complete thread a stick through the hole and wind wire around the stick to create a hanger.

Mixed Media Canvas by Elisa Ablett

Hi Crafters,

Another gorgeous Summer's Sunday here where I live on the coast, what's it like where you live today??

Just sharing my blog post which featured on the Colour Blast Blog today -

It's a bit of a sad post today because it's my last for Colour Blast for the moment as I take a step back to let some different ladies inspire you all. I'm sure I will see you all around on social media, don't forget to visit my blog - http://2crazycrafters.blogspot.com.au/ to subscribe and keep up to date with my next ventures. Thanks for all the love over the last year xx

Now onto my final post, you know me always creating something different so I decided on a Mixed Media canvas showcasing the Colour Blast Pastes on Acetate and other mediums!!

Here is my Canvas -

Tutorial Time !! 😀😀

Step 1 - Grab your fairy wing stencil (or chosen stencil, my one is a Crafters Workshop Stencil) and a couple of awesome Colour Blast Colour Pastes ( Deep Water and Fire Engine) spread your inner colour paste first using the palette knife and then the second colour to finish. Wait to air dry (for acetate) then cut around your acetate wings, ink around the edges in black ink and put aside.

Step 2 - I hand dyed a few pieces of medical gauze available from any pharmacy with Colour Blast Shimmer Dust in Lollipop, make up a diluted solution of the Shimmer Dust with water, then dip your gauze in and squeeze liquid out, Let air dry :-)

Step 3 - Die cut a frame out of white cardstock, spray the frame with Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Spray in Just Blue and then using a paint brush while the frame is wet, add a bit of the Colour Blast Shimmer Dust in Navy with a paint brush, I just added the Dust undiluted to the wet parts of the frame.

Step 4 - Using small amounts of diluted Shimmer Dusts (Lollipop, Navy and Peacock) on a craft mat, stamp butterflies onto watercolour paper, do several layers of colour on each butterfly image. Wait to dry then stamp the butterfly images again over the top in Versamark Black Ink, dry then cut them out.

Step 5 - I used a small canvas which was already prepped with gesso. I sprayed the canvas with water the using a paint brush I started to add my chosen base colour - Colour Blast Shimmer Dust in Peacock. Keep adding colour and spray with extra water where needed.

While it was still wet I added my two extra colours  - Navy and Lollipop Shimmer Dusts

To get an extra depth of colour, I added a small amount of Shimmer Dust crystals directly to the wet surface of the canvas using the end of pointy palette knife, you do not need to add too much but it will give you gorgeous patterns and vibrancy of colour.

Step 6 - Once your canvas is dry, stamp onto your canvas with versamark black ink pad and your chosen stamps, I also inked around the edges of the canvas with the black ink.

Step 7 - Once your stamping is dry, you can now add your first layer of stenciling (circles) with Colour Blast Colour Paste in Deep Water

Step 8 - Second layer of stenciling ( lines)  - Colour Blast Paste in Dusty Charcoal

Step 9 - Third layer of stenciling (small dots) in Colour Blast Colour Paste in Fire Engine and some lovely black splatters of Colour Blast Colour Spray in Roadbase

Step 10 - Last step is to add splatters of watered down Heavy White Gesso

Let your canvas dry thoroughly before adding your last details.

1. Glue down your torn up gauze and extra threads
2. Glue your blue frame to the bottom left hand corner of the canvas
3. Glue the middle of your acetate fairy wings to your photo and then using 3D foam dots to glue your fussy cut photo to the canvas situated over the blue frame.
4. Glue your butterflies to the canvas i situated mine over the top of glued gauze
5. Add your quote or saying
6. I also added some lovely teal dots with Nuvo Crystal

Here are some close ups!!

And you are finished!
